HIP 7918 is a sun-like star located in the Andromeda constellation.
HIP 7918 (also cataloged as HD 10307 and SAO 37434) is a star similar to the sun and has been identified as a possible candidate for hosting life. The star is faint but can be seen with the naked eye from a dark enough location. It can easily be observed from almost anywhere with a small telescope.

HIP 7918 is listed in SIMBAD as having an apparent visual magnitude of 4.96 and a spectral type of G1V, which is similar to our sun. This means it is a solar analog and may harbor an inhabitable zone that could contain life.

A METI message was sent to this star in 2003 and since it is 42.6 light years away, it will arrive there in 2044.
