50 Cassiopeiae is a moderately bright blue-white star in the constellation Cassiopeia
50 Cassiopeiae is the bright blue star in the center of the image. 50 Cas is a magnitude 3.9 star with a spectral type of A2V.

There was a slight smudge on the front lens of the telescope when this image was taken. That is what caused the flaring in the lower left quadrant of the star. The problem has since been fixed, but the data used here was compromised.

Since I may never re-take this image ever again, I decided to post this version as opposed to posting nothing. The flare is not that bad anyway and the surrounding star field came out rather nice. And the smudge does not affect the other stars in the field so for now anyway, this version stays up.
